Week 10

-I think things went well with my activities because actually putting down in words on how you want to teach your class and what you want your students to learn from helps you make some changes in your teaching style to see if it will work or not.

- I felt fine in creating my brochure it wasn't hard because it was already set up for you all you had to do was put in your information.

- Is there any muddy point that you need to review? No

- How do you feel about Desktop Publishing? I like it because it helps you get started and makes it organized. We can make academic calendars for the school year, newsletters for your students or parents, or flyers class assignments. i would crate a months worth of calendars for my class so i can stay organized and already have planed out what units i am going to teach and what type of skill for that week

Power Point Project

Our project is going good so far the only thing i don't know how to do it how to post a video on my slide. The topic that we chose is The Role of Technology in classrooms. I like my partner. I don't think we work faster or slower we just split up that project tell who do what and then we are just going to put it together.

Week 7

I do think that educators should use their instruction and classroom activities to the technology their students use because you don't want to have activities that does not catch the students attention that was used 4 years ago, the teachers need to update their lessons plans as newer technology comes out. You always want to keep your students on their toes with learning new and interesting things that catches their attention.

I think online chats in a classroom and I.M are a value because it helps the students stay in contact with their other classmates in and out of school. I.M is a great way for students to communicate because you don't have to meet at someones house or plan lots of gatherings, you just log onto your computer and chat. They might distract to student learning but its up to the teacher for them to stay on task and on point. I mean its alright every once in awhile if they talk about something off topic but the teacher needs to walk around and make sure they are completing their work.

Podcasts can enhance the students learning because teachers use podcast episodes for students to listen to or watch on their laptops, iPods, Palm handhelds, Pocket PCs, or other devices that can be loaded with podcast episodes so students can use them at their desks, on field trips, in the library, or at home. Podcasts sounds like it would be a better learning tool tan just reading and going over power points all the time.

I don't think videogames help your learning they take away from it. I have been one of those where i come home from calss and want to play my game that i haven't turned off becasue i wanted to beat the level but i didn't have enough time becasue of class. Students who are involved with gaming get so involved in the game they don't keep track of time and soon as you know it it's 10:00 at night and then they have to stay up late to finish their homework and get little time to sleep or they might not even do their homework. I would not let my children play videogames every day their are other ways to enhance your learning besides video games.

Delicious

Delicious is a public bookmarking site that allows users to tag, save, manage and share web pages from a centralized source. I really don't understand what its for and how to use it. To me its like using favorites in your tool bar. I won't use it because i just use favorites in my tool bar its quick and easy access instead of not going to a website to find my bookmark.

Wikis

I personally like Wikis, i use it a lot when i have to write papers and i have to research people, places, or things. I has helped me a lot in learning new things and i understand things easier because it gets right to the point. I would use it in my classroom because the website is opened to anything you want to look up. It can also help in students with study guides, students staying in contact with each other, and group projects.

I think learning by conversing in learning communities can be more effective because having group members can help each other out if one doesn't understand something or there is someone there when something might go wrong. Finishing the project with more than one person can get done a lot quicker and the project could turn out really good because of every one's brilliant ideas.

I do think people think different because of their personality types. For example I have always been a creative person so my learning style is hands on and visual learner. I think you can tell by a persons personality what type of learner they are. I mean the athletes are going to be more interested in sports topics than political topics. i don't think it will help me with learning my students better because there is no test that tells you what type of learner you are only yourself and how you grew up on different types of learning styles.

The one word that best describes Inspectors is superdependable. Whether at home or at work, Inspectors are extraordinarily persevering and dutiful, particularly when it comes to keeping an eye on the people and products they are responsible for. In their quiet way, Inspectors see to it that rules are followed, laws are respected, and standards are upheld.

Ch 5 blog

I think a spreadsheet is a great idea for the classroom because it helps you stay organized with your students grades and also helps you see if they are progressing or struggling in the class. for the ones who are struggling you have the option to see them after class to talk to them by finding out whats the problem. I would use a spreadsheet in my class to keep track of my students grades but also for the students to use to understand mathematical equations, grouping, and comparing. Teachers may use spreadsheets to keep track of grades, create charts (images) for use in instruction, and to analyze various types of data they may collect in the classroom. The spreadsheet will do the math for you. They allow you to see all of the numbers at one time. Three primary functions: storing, calculating, and presenting information. I think they are the primary functions because storing helps you keep your work organized where you can choose to keep your information readily accessed and retrieved. You can use the calculation system in so many ways for your task, and instead of just using numbers and calculations you can see your work in graphs and charts.
